Irish pension managed funds enjoyed positive returns during January 2018, gaining 1.0% on average over the month. Aberdeen Standard Investments and Zurich Life topped the table over the first month of the year, with returns of 1.3%, while Setanta Asset Management lagged the peer group over the month, with a return of 0.5%.

Over the past twelve months, Irish pension managed funds have delivered a very respectable 8.6% return on average. Returns for the past year ranged from 10.0% (Aberdeen Standard Investments) to 6.6% (Merrion Investment Managers).

The average managed fund return has been 6.2% per annum over the past three years. The five-year average return is a strong 10.8% per annum. Irish group pension managed fund returns over the past ten years have been 6.2% per annum on average.
