Irish pension funds gained 2.1% on average during July. Davy Asset Management and New Ireland turned in the best performances this month with returns of 2.6%, while Merrion Investment Managers delivered the worst, with a return of 1.6%.
Pension funds have gained 3.4% on average over the first seven months of the year. Returns for the year to date ranged from 4.6% (Davy Asset Management) to 1.5% (New Ireland). Over the past twelve months the average fund return was 8.5%. Davy Asset Management top the table over the past year with a return of 10.1%, while New Ireland produced the lowest return at 6.7%.
The average managed fund return has been 4.5% per annum over the past three years. The five-year average return is a robust 9.6% per annum. Irish group pension managed fund returns over the past ten years have been a respectable 7.6% per annum on average.
