Irish Multi-Asset Pension Funds Deliver Robust Returns in 2025
Irish multi-asset pension funds posted solid performances in 2025, according to the latest Rubicon Multi-Asset Pension Fund Survey. Funds gained an average of 6.8% over the year, a period which saw turmoil over tariffs and anxiety over AI.
Performances varied significantly across the peer group, with the Cantor Fitzgerald Multi-Asset 70 Fund leading at 12.7%, while Standard Life’s MyFolio Active V recorded the lowest return at 2.6%.
Long-Term Performance Remains Healthy
Investing for retirement is a long-term prospect, however, so focusing on short-term results can be misleading. Looking at the medium-term, we can see that the average return over the past three years has been 12.3% per annum, while the five-year average stands at 8.1% per annum.
Irish multi-asset funds have demonstrated consistent long-term growth. The funds in our survey have delivered 7.0% per annum on average over the past decade. Over 15 and 20 years, the average returns have been 8.3% and 6.1% per annum respectively. These figures highlight the resilience of multi-asset strategies across multiple market cycles and varying economic conditions.
